The Steelers will be hoping to secure a Playoff berth in the coming few weeks, and they will be expected to claim the win here against a banged up Ravens team.

The Ravens are heading towards their worst finish to a season in eight years, but their motivation today will be to sweep their big rivals and put a big dent in Pittsburgh Playoff hopes.

If Pittsburgh can win today and go on to secure a postseason berth, it will be their sixth Playoffs appearance in coach Mike Tomlin's nine seasons with the franchise.

The Steelers claimed a massive win last week, when they claimed a 34-27 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Putting 34 points over on the NFL's best defense is no small accomplishment, and that should give the Steelers' offense a massive confidence boost heading towards the regular season climax and possibly the Playoffs.

Last week Ben Roethlisberger threw 380 yards for three touchdowns to help the Steelers cut down a 17 point deficit to claim a win against a team that has not allowed more than 29 points or 262 passing yards this season.

Earlier this week on Saturday night, the NFC East division was all but concluded, with the Washington Redskins defeating the Philadelphia Eagles to confirm themselves as division champions.

The Redskins clinched the division title, and with it a postseason spot, with a comfortable 38-24 win. Their appearance in the Playoffs this season will be their first since the 2012 season, and comes as a surprise as not many had predicted the Redskins would take the NFC East at the start of the season.

The result means the 8-7 Redskins will play a home Playoff game against the No. 5 seeded team in the NFC. At the moment that would mean a match up against the Seattle Seahawks, which would be a massive challenge as they have made huge strides in the second half of the season and at the moment look like one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

If the results in the coming few weeks shake things up more though, then the Redskins could get a game against the 9-5 Minnesota Vikings, which is another daunting prospect for Washington. However, at the moment the Redskins may just want to enjoy the fact that they're back in the postseason and whoever it turns out they face, what will be will be.

Kirk Cousins has been one of the core reasons the Redskins have managed to surprise people this season, and he has played above everyone's expectations. On Saturday night he completed 31 of 46 throws for 365 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.

At the start of the season, the Redskins suffered poor form through their opening six games. During that period, Kirk Cousins threw eight interceptions, where as in the nine games since he threw just three.

They will need the new improved Kirk Cousins if they are to make an impact in the Playoffs.
