The Ty Lawson sweepstakes continue to heat up with the National Basketball Association (NBA) Trade deadline fast approaching.

Right now, everything is up in the air with possible trade scenarios involving the Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks.

On one end, Lawson could be headed to Detroit in exchange for long-rumored Pistons guard Brandon Jennings.

Jennings is coming off an Achilles injury and such has made teams apply a wait-and-see approach before pulling the trigger on any possible trade scenarios.

The Knicks were the team widely rumored to be looking into Jennings, but it seems Knicks president Phil Jackson was not too impressed.

Instead, Lawson seems to be the new apple of their eye per Morning News USA. According to that report, the Knicks are close to striking a deal but seem to be more inclined to getting Lawson over Jennings.

If not the Knicks, Lawson could find himself in Detroit. With Jennings losing his starting role to Reggie Jackson, Jennings could be better off playing for another team in serious need of a point guard. It just so happens that the Rockets are one of those teams.

Seeing that Lawson may have worn out his welcome and has hardly helped the Rockets' cause, a swap with the Pistons for Jennings could render better results.

For now, nothing has been made official, but these are two scenarios that Lawson and his agents could be seriously working on.

ESPN reports that Lawson is seeking to play for a team where he can get more playing time, making a move to Pistons questionable. Everyone knows that Jackson eats up those minutes unless coach Stan Van Gundy comes up with a way to pair both Jackson and Lawson as his backcourt duo.

That would mean one between Jackson or Lawson could be playing off guard to make it all work. Lawson is bound not to mind as long as he gets the playing time he is looking for.
