The Texans have home field advantage here and they will hope that will aid them and swing things their way today.

It has been more than two decades since the Chiefs last won a Playoffs game, however, Kansas City fans will be quick to point out that at that time their victory came at the expense of Houston.

This year they enter the Playoffs on the back of an amazing 10 game win streak, which should give them confidence that their long wait for a postseason win will finally be theirs to celebrate.

However, this AFC Wild Card game is far from clear cut, as the Houston Texans are also coming into the postseason in strong form, and they will be no pushovers, especially at the NRG Stadium.

Much of the Texans recent good form has come thanks to their stout defense, and if they can continue that form today they will certainly give as good as they get against the Chiefs.

Kansas City's last win in the postseason was against the Oilers in January 1994 at the Astrodome. At that time they piled on 21 points in the final quarter to claim the win 28-20. However, the following week they lost against Buffalo, and since then they have lost a further seven postseason games to extend their winless Playoffs streak to 22 years.

But this Chiefs' team has gotten used to breaking records and exceeding expectations. After starting the season 1-5, they have gone on an extraordinary 10 game win streak, which makes them the most in form NFL team coming into the Playoffs.

Chiefs' owner Clark Hunt said has said ahead of the game: "Clearly when you're 1-5, you're not thinking about the playoffs or Super Bowl. You're thinking about getting a victory. Once you start stringing victories together, I was optimistic we could carry it all the way to the end and make the playoffs."

Kansas City's defense has been the foundation of that 10 game win streak. They have allowed an average of just 12.8 points per game during that run, and have posted an eye-popping plus-16 turnover differential over their last 10 games.

Alex Smith has said, "I think this team, like I said, is very confident in our capabilities. If we play the way we know we can play, we can play with anybody, beat anybody."

However, they come up against a team that will not be fazed by how the Chiefs have turned their season around this year. The Texans after all started the season 2-5 themselves. Although, Houston's run was not quite as impressive as the Chiefs' 10 game stretch, they went on to turn that 2-5 into 9-7, which was enough to get them to this same spot as the Chiefs in the Playoffs. And let's not forget that it is the Texans that have home field advantage today.
