Justin Bieber covers Delirious? worship song in Paris concert

He's arguably the world's biggest pop star, often making headlines for all sorts of reasons, but this week Justin Bieber surprised fans by slipping a well-known '90s worship song into his live show. The committed Christian performed an acoustic version of I Could Sing of Your Love Forever on a sofa during the Paris leg of his Purpose Tour, and fan videos of the event have quickly surfaced on social networks and video-sharing sites such as YouTube.

The song has been widely-reported as a 'Hillsong' worship track, probably because of Bieber's close affiliation to the church network. In fact it was written by former Delirious? front-man Martin Smith (allegedly "in about five minutes"), back when the group was known as The Cutting Edge Worship Band. One of Smith's most successful songs, it remains hugely popular in US churches and is likely to experience a surge in popularity after Bieber's intervention.

The pop star's cover is more passion than polish, and as yet it's unclear whether his sudden public display of faith was planned or impromptu. What is clear from the videos however, is that the crowd clearly loved his choice of song, and within moments joined in with its simple, God-praising chorus.

So Bieber sang Delirious? – but here are six more musical acts that we think should cover a worship song.
