iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors: New A10 chipset being developed?

Apple Inc. seems to be preparing to outdo their competition in the smartphone market, as recent reports claim that a new chipset is being developed for the iPhone 7.

According to a report from the Electronic Daily News obtained by BGR, Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is already planning to come up with a new 10nm pilot line in June, which could pave the way for the development of the A10 chipset that the Cupertino-based company can use for their next flagship smartphone product.

TSMC, known as one of the suppliers of the A9 chipset for Apple Inc. together with Samsung, uses 14nm and 16nm process technology for their current chipset products. But the Taiwanese semiconductor company seems to be aiming to become the only supplier of the A10 chipset for future iPhone devices as well as for other high-end smartphones.

On the other hand, other reports claim that instead of releasing the iPhone 7 this year, the Cupertino tech giant would opt to come up with an iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. According to PC Pro, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities, stated that it is possible that Apple Inc. would announce the release date of their new iPhone product line at a launch event that will be held earlier than the usual company conference and product launching in September. But this report is still unconfirmed by the iPhone maker.

Other expected features of the rumored iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s devices include the new Force Touch technology that was earlier introduced with the release of the Apple Watch and MacBook variants. This will help users to maximize their touchscreen devices. It will also allegedly have an improved fingerprint recognition system for better user protection.

Also, there are talks claiming that the new smartphone product from Apple Inc. could come with an added microphone for better call quality.
