Halo makes a comeback in a big way with expected launch of "Halo Wars 2." The newest installment is set to hit Xbox One and PC platforms with new stories, modes and additional characters.

According to Game N' Guide, the single player campaign for "Halo Wars 2" takes off where "Halo 5: Guardians" ended. The crew wakes up after a 28-year long deep slumber in a place they have no recollection of. This is where the skirmish starts.

"Halo Wars 2" will also be sporting a few familiar faces with a new facade. Cutter and Anders, returning characters from "Halo Wars," are going to be part of the new roster with a few changes based on the character design and technicalities of the new installment.

Players will also get to see a new villain in the person of Atriox. He is a violent leader of a mercenary group known as the Banished and have been described to bring brutal battles with some classic yet effective weapons.

Aside from the single player mode, some returning and new multiplayer modes have been included in "Halo Wars 2." One of the modes worth noticing is Strongholds, as it is not an ordinary multiplayer co-op play. The gameplay will be timed, thus players need to think on their feet how to quickly overthrow the enemy before the timer stops.

Another option is Blitz, which has limited information on how it would add depth to the multiplayer games, but is described to use real-time strategy in a rather unique way. All other modes are well described in the "Halo Wars 2" official website.
