"Halo 6" has been confirmed, but its release date hasn't been mentioned just yet. With fans assured that the game is already in development, those who own an Xbox are certainly happy that this game will be released for their consoles.

According to Movie News Guide, Frank O'Connor, the director of this series, has assured everyone that there's enough material within the "Halo" plot to keep the game going for another 20 years. Even 343 Studio head Bonnie Ross supports this statement, saying that the "Halo 6" plot will be developed from the events of "Halo 3" and "Halo: Reach."

Also, in the same article, O'Connor said that they have already planned the events in "Halo 6." He even went so far as to say that they already have a good grasp of what's going to happen in the next game. With this, fans can only be assured that the series will continue on, regardless of the passing years.

However, this doesn't really stop people from speculating how the story goes. According to Game N Guide earlier this year, it could be possible that "Halo 6" will feature the heroes fighting against Cortana herself. Furthermore, the new storyline will purportedly delve into each character's personal storylines.

"Halo 6" was supposed to be the last part for the "Reclaimer Trilogy." In 2013, however, Microsoft changed its plans and instead made a full-on saga. After all, they don't want the "Reclaimer" story to just be limited by a trilogy, with O'Connor saying that the "Halo" series can be comparable to the "Star Wars" franchise in terms of staying in popular culture.

The "Halo" series is still considered to be Microsoft's most popular game, with more than 65 million copies sold worldwide.
