WWE rumors: Batista's past spat with company makes his ring comeback impossible

After the resounding commercial success of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Dave Bautista, aka Batista, may find himself inside the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc (WWE) ring once more as the wrestler-turned-Hollywood actor has set his eyes on staging a comeback. However, it is suspected that Batista's wish to return to wrestling may just remain a wish as his past spat with the company may prevent it from happening.

It was no less than Batista himself who admitted his desire to return to the wrestling ring. In a podcast interview with fellow wrestler Chris Jericho, Batista said pointblank that he had reached out to certain people in order to materialize his plan and desire. Despite his efforts, though, it seems that wrestling fans cannot expect to see Batista's wrestling might and power in the WWE ring anytime soon.

"I've asked (to come back). I've asked. I've asked for what I want. I'll tell (Chris Jericho) and I've talked to Hunter (Hearst Hemsley, aka Triple H) about it and I've talked to Vince (McMahon, WWE CEO) about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with Hunter. That's the only thing I'm interested in and they're just not interested in it," Batista said.

"There's just an adrenaline rush that goes along with it. What I don't miss is the company, to be honest with you. I don't miss WWE. I miss wrestling," he added.

If Batista's statements are to be believed, it is apparent that WWE is not open to the idea of having one of its previous prized wrestling attractions return to its ward. Because of this, some suspect that WWE's lack of interest in welcoming back Bautista stemmed from his brief return stint in the company in 2014.

To recall, WWE initially packaged Batista as a babyface during "Wrestlemania 30," which marked his return to WWE. However, the company eventually packaged Batista as the villain in the matches after the first packaging did not sit well with the fans. That consequently led the wrestler/actor to exit from WWE unceremoniously and prompted him to openly criticize WWE for a while.
