'WWE 2K16' roster: 120 characters for upcoming game

When game studio 2K Sports said that "WWE 2K16" will break records with its "largest roster ever" campaign, it wasn't kidding. The company recently quashed doubts and negativities aimed at the company's claims. It set the record straight via its Instagram account by making a comparison between the upcoming game's roster and that of its predecessor.

The post reads: "For anyone doubting the 'largest roster ever' tag line for WWE 2k16, let us assure you, that we are bringing over 120 unique playable Superstars and Divas to the game."

This figure doesn't count the various models of the wrestlers that would make it more amazing and mind-blowing.

"Now when we say unique, we're not counting the repeats like 5 John Cena models, or 8 Mark Henry models. As you can imagine, these models are keeping us crazy busy, but it is worth it," the developer continued.

"WWE 2K15" only had 67 characters, which makes the figure dropped by 2K Sports simply towering. "WWE 2K16" has almost double that number. Now, it is hard to think which fighter isn't getting included as opposed to who is, as this was what kept fans worried.

Fan-favorite characters on gamers' wish lists include Brock Lesnar, Goldberg (which was rumored to be included) Brooklyn Brawler, and Norman Smiley. With this literally big revelation, 2K Sports is now expected to reveal who these 120 characters are.

There will surely be Divas — new ones and those who have graced the wrestling ring in the past — as well as NXT superstars. But as of this writing, "WWE 2K16," set to be released on Oct. 27, will feature Paige, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bad news Barrett, Daniel Bryan, and Finn Balor.
