This summer, the world is finally witnessing the first-ever standalone live-action big screen feature of Wonder Woman. As the upcoming movie is expected to propel Gal Gadot's Hollywood career into greater heights, the actress has recently revealed that Beyonce has helped her bag the Wonder Woman role.

As the commercial release of "Wonder Woman" inches closer, more and more details about the movie are released to the public to whet their appetite. However, in a recent interview, Gadot recalled the process she went through before finally having been bestowed the responsibility of breathing life to the most famous female superhero of all time.

In an interview with W Magazine, the actress shared that she did not know that she was auditioning for the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman for the then being planned DC and Warner Bros. movie, last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Nonetheless, she did anyway, along with a few other hopefuls.

"When I auditioned for 'Batman v Superman,' I didn't know it was for Wonder Woman… they were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyoncé's 'Who Runs the World? Girls!' I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé," Gadot revealed.

While Beyonce's "Who Runs the World? Girls!" helped Gadot relax as she waited for the outcome of her auditions, it goes without saying that there is more about it that made her clinch the role. For "Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins, Gadot is the perfect choice for the role of the Amazonian Warrior Princess as she is pure apart from being wise, beautiful, kind, and strong.

"It's a choice to stay so spiritually clean. Gal instinctively understands that choice," Jenkins said.

"Wonder Woman" hits the theaters this June 2.
