While Naughty Dog has yet to announce the official release date of "The Last of Us 2," it is said that the highly anticipated game sequel will boast of impressive graphics that will even top that of "Horizon Zero Dawn."

Since Naughty Dog announced "The Last of Us 2" in December during the PlayStation Experience event, the studio has yet to reveal when it will be releasing the game sequel. As it has been reported that the game has not even entered its production stage yet, some suspect that "The Last of Us 2" cannot be expected to arrive earlier than 2019.

While "The Last of Us 2" is not expected to arrive anytime soon, reports claim that it will be worth the wait even just for its graphics, at least. Reportedly, the game sequel will boast of impressive graphics and visuals that are said to be better than those of the recently released "Horizon Zero Dawn" as Neil Druckmann, the game's director, has promised that it will be the case.

"The graphics are staggering. I don't even think of it as graphics because I'm in the woods. I'm in this overgrown environment, and I'm like, 'How are they getting so much foliage, such density in an open-world game.' You better believe I'm going to my team, and I'm saying like, 'Okay. This ('Horizon Zero Dawn') is the bar now. We have to top this,'" Druckmann said as he talked to Hermen Hulst, managing director of Guerrilla Games, the studio behind "Horizon Zero Dawn."

Apart from possibly featuring impressive graphics, it is also said that the upcoming game sequel will feature more of a horseback riding gameplay. Speculations on this possibility surfaced recently as Druckmann uploaded a photo on his Twitter account, showing his "The Last of Us 2" cowriter Halley Gross riding a makeshift horse and wielding a shotgun during a mocap session.

Nonetheless, this, too, can only be confirmed once the game is finally out, who knows when.
