'The Flash' season 2 episode 20 spoilers: Rupture seeks revenge

When Barry Allen aka the Flash (Grant Gustin) and his friends travelled to Earth-2, they did encounter Cisco's (Carlos Valdes) counterpart, the villain Reverb. Unfortunately, Reverb was killed by Zoom (Teddy Sears) and in season 2 episode 20, Reverb's brother Rupture (Nicholas Gonzalez) will be coming to Earth-1 seeking vengeance.

Rumors of Rupture appearing in the season first popped up when Canadagraphs posted leaked images of a costumed villain via Twitter. A report from iDigital Times confirms this now that the CW has released the official synopsis of the episode, specifically naming Rupture as the villain coming in from Earth-2.

Rupture is the Earth-2 counterpart to Earth-1's Dante, Cisco's brother. In the original comic books, Rupture is known as the Hound of Mordeth and travels to "root out all who stand for freedom." The villain is known for killing thousands of innocents. However, in the comics his true identity is Armando Ramon, brother to Cisco and Dante instead of being Dante himself.

According to the synopsis, Rupture travels through the breach in search of Cisco, hoping to attain vengeance for the death of Reverb. It is unclear at this point if Rupture is aware that it was Zoom who killed his brother and not Cisco or the Flash.

However, the episode will not just focus on Reverb causing trouble for Cisco and the Flash as the synopsis also reveals that Zoom will arrive and begin executing his plan to take over Central City. In order to stop him, Barry seeks help from his real father and from his adoptive father yet they give opposing advice regarding what he should do.

Iris (Candice Patton) will also begin opening up to Barry about her feelings toward him. It is speculated by fans that this may begin leading to the future that was teased in season 1, where Barry and Iris get married.

"The Flash" season 2 episode 20, "Rupture," will air on May 3.
