Liz (Megan Boone) and Reddington (James Spader) finally got to Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), but their efforts might just be for naught when they try to pry answers out of him in "The Backlist" season 4 episode 7, "Dr. Adrian Shaw."

Kirk's condition continues to deteriorate along with Liz's hope that he would shed some light on her past, which is unclear to her as it was before.

"He's going to do die and all the answers I'm looking for are going to die with him," Liz says in the promo for episode 7.

However, Red assures her that all Kirk's "resources" will be put to use even though he will be gone soon. That being said, it looks like Liz will finally learn more about who she is.

The biggest question, among a sea of mysteries that Liz hopes unravel, is whether Kirk really is Liz's father or if he was just too good with sticking with an elaborate lie.

Seeing Kirk give in to Liz's pleading for her baby's safety may have implied that he might actually be his father. "The Blacklist" season 4 episode 7 would shed a light on that as well.

The promotional images for the upcoming episode show Liz in the hospital, waiting to learn of Kirk's fate and the answers that he holds. Tom (Ryan Eggold) is there with him.

According to the synopsis for the episode, Liz "seeks guidance" with Cooper (Harry Lennix), who is also in the hospital with her.

Fans can expect "The Blacklist" season 4 episodes 7 and 8, which are actually two halves of a big explosive special, to reveal the answers to these mysteries.

The synopsis of the latter suggests that Kirk is still alive and has grown "increasingly desperate and dangerous," which leads Liz to worry about her connection with him.

"The Blacklist" season 4 episode 7, "Dr. Adrian Shaw," airs on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
