Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) is willing to do everything to clear Liz's (Megan Boone) name in a crime that she did not commit, even if it means that he has to ask his least favorite person for help in the winter premiere of "The Blacklist" season 3.

Series executive producer Jon Bokenkamp revealed through a spoiler posted on the Entertainment Weekly that Liz's ex-husband will unexpectedly turn to her former FBI partner Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) to help him in exonerating her.

"Tom, who will do anything possible to save and exonerate Liz, will find himself aligned in a completely unexpected way with Ressler, and these two guys hate each other," Bokenkamp explained.

But it does not mean that their new partnership will have no room for more drama, since the two cannot consider each other as friends to begin with. "There's no love lost between those two guys. I would expect to see them perhaps unite in some sort of way to help Liz. It kills them both to have to do it. What happens when they recognize that they have the same agenda?" the series executive producer shared.

Meanwhile, Red (James Spader) will also do act in order to help Liz.

The official episode synopsis for the episode titled "The Director Part 1" reads:

"While Red creates a crime scene to retrieve his care package, friends of the truth rally around Liz, whose life is in grave danger now that she's in custody. Christine Lahti and David Strathairn guest star."

Fans of the series are also expecting to learn more about Samar Navabi's (Mozhan Marno) link with Red after finding out that she worked with him behind Ressler's back in the midseason finale of "The Blacklist" season 3. Will Ressler take her back after firing her for using his laptop to locate Liz?

"The Blacklist" season 3 winter premiere airs on Jan. 7 on ABC.
