Things are about to get brutal for Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulous) in the upcoming season of "The 100."

As revealed by Inquisitr, Octavia will be heading down a darker and literally bloodier direction in season 5. The actress shared a set photo on Instagram, showing her covered in blood which probably suggests that Octavia has killed her way to getting what she wants. Octavia's development has kept fans watching out for her every move in each episode. After losing a loved one, Octavia changed for the worse and has now come to terms with her dark side, leading her to becoming one of the most powerful fighters.

It appears that Octavia will not hesitate to use other, more gruesome methods to getting what she wants. Is that how bad things will get underground? Everyone knows that she is an underground bunker that leads several clans of the Grounders. For over six years, Octavia has had to keep the warriors at bay, and that is no easy task.

In the photo, it does not seem that Octavia will get spattered in blood. More like, she was involved in some brutal battle that left someone dead. She may have even dismembered them in the process.

Previously, "The 100" showrunner Jason Rothenberg revealed to the Hidden Remote that in those six years since the Praimfaya, many things have already changed. The fate of Octavia's group is going to be revealed by then.

They have decided to stay in the bunker and hoped that it would be strong enough to shield them from the Holocaust. Rothenberg went on to say that the reason for Octavia's drastic 180-degree change will be explained and it seems like Bellamy (Bob Morley) will have some difficulty recognizing his sister when he comes back to the ground with the Ark group.

"The 100" season 5 will premiere in 2018 on The CW.
