The death toll is rising while Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) and Bellamy's (Bob Morley) relationship continues to fall apart in the next episode of "The 100" season 3.
In the trailer for the upcoming episode titled "Hakeldama," Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) are seen coming across a patch of land littered with hundreds of dead Grounder warriors. "What happened here is an act of war," Clarke tells Lexa.
War broke in the previous episode of the series, when the newly elected Sky People chancellor Pike (Michael Beach) ordered his crew to attack the Grounder army that was staying outside the camp's wall to retaliate against the Ice Nation.
Pike's plan worked out well, and each member of the Grounder army died during the attack, and Pike is seen in the trailer announcing to the Sky People that "This land is ours now!"
However, Marcus Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) is not pleased with what happened. He will immediately tell Bellamy that they attacked an army that was assigned to protect the Sky People from the possible attack from the other Grounders from the Ice Nation.
Bellamy will realize that they made a mistake and will approach Pike in the upcoming episode to tell him that they went too far. However, Pike does not seem to be bothered, since his strong desire to avenge the death of his people on Mt. Weather makes him determined to eradicate the Grounders.
Since Bellamy sided with Pike, he will get the ire of his sister Octavia. In one of the earlier spoilers this season, Octavia is seen punching her brother while saying "You are dead to me."
Abby (Paige Turco) is also seen in the trailer, asking her daughter Clarke if they can still do anything to stop the Grounders from retaliating. But in the end of the promo video, Kane is seen talking with former Chancellor Jaha (Isaiah Washington) saying: "The war you predicted is about to happen."
"The 100" season 3 episode 5 airs Thursday, Feb. 18, on The CW.
