'Shameless' season 6 premiere: trailer and poster arrive

Shameless season 6 poster Showtime

The first trailer for "Shameless" season 6 has finally arrived and it continues to prove that the Gallagher family will maintain their familiar antics that keep the show on its feet, particularly with Fiona (Emmy Rossum) declaring that it's all "just family stuff."

The trailer goes by pretty quickly but there are a few important shots that reveal what fans can expect in the upcoming sixth season. One shot showcases Carl (Ethan Cutcowsky) in juvenile detention center where he and Chuckie (Kellen Michael) lead rival gangs. It is speculated that a juvenile "gang" riot may break out during this season.

Debbie (Emma Kenney) is seen taking a pregnancy test but there are no confirmations proving she is indeed pregnant or not at this point. Her pregnancy issue has been carried over from season 5 and it is possible that she will indeed be having a child at some point in season 6 since Fiona points out Debbie is being happy about her situation.

Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is shown to be having sex with his professor, Helene Runyon (Sasha Alexander) and is even confronted about it by Helene's husband Theo (Michael Reilly Burke). Theo asks if Lip is still aware that the only reason the latter is able to sleep with Helene is because Theo allows it and Lip simply nods in response as if it were nothing.

Veronica (Shanola Hampton) and Kevin (Steve Howey) aren't shown much in the trailer but as pointed out by a report from AVClub, it appears as if their issues in the bedroom are still rampant in season 6. In season 5, the couple had problems with Kev unsure if he had STD's due to his time sleeping with so many co-ed students.

Showtime also released a '70s-inspired poster alongside the trailer [shown above].

"Shameless" season 6 premieres this Jan. 10 2016.
