The Seattle Seahawks are not yet done with their contract issues with quarterback Russell Wilson and one more player from the Super Bowl XLVIII winners is trying to appeal his current deal.

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett has been living in Honolulu, Hawaii this offseason and suggested in a statement to local television station KHON2 that he is willing to miss training camp to get a better deal.

The 29-year-old inked a four-year, $28.5 million deal with a guaranteed $16 million with the Seahawks in March 2014.

But in a report by ESPN, Bennett wants to be paid among the top 10 NFL defensive ends which will likely increase his pay to $10 million annually.

"I don't mind staying home for a little while. Hawaii's weather is great, so I'll just keep it at that," Bennett told KHON2.

He added, "When the weather's not as nice as it is here, it's harder to make that decision, so it just keeps it in my mind like hopefully something great comes out of it, but I don't mind staying home for a little while."

Bennett opted no to attend the Seahawks' organized team activities although he was present during their mandatory minicamp.

Unfortunately, it will not benefit him if he decides to be absent in their training camp which will open on July 31 at the Seahawks' facility in Reno, Washington.

Bennett will be fined $30,000 for each day missed if he continues his plan of not being with the team in the camp.

"Of course, I think I've outplayed the contract that they gave me. It's one of those things where you have to let your agent do the talking with the team and hopefully something good comes out of it. It never hurts to try," Bennett also told KHON2.

Despite Bennett's concern regarding his contract, the Seahawks will likely address first their goal of signing Wilson and linebacker Bobby Wagner to long-term deals.
