It is speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be released sometime in Februry 2016, given the release history of the company over the years. However, according to a report from Tech Times, it is possible that the Galaxy S7 will be released before the end of 2015 to compete against the upcoming iPhone.
Apple's flagship series is expected to be made available in the fourth quarter of this year although no one is really sure if it will be an upgraded iPhone 6 (the purported iPhone 6s) or a true successor (the iPhone 7). The next iPhone will also reportedly come with a new version of the iPhone 6 Plus.
According to the report, Samsung is speeding up its whole production cycle to get the Galaxy S7 out at roughly the same time the iPhone is launched. On a financial stand point, this makes sense since Samsung would want to get their product out there before consumers spend their money on the competition.
However, a report from Tech Buffalo states that this is very unlikely to actually happen. Samsung is still reportedly working on releasing the Galaxy Note 5 and this may be the device to fill in the 2015 slot until the Galaxy S7 is ready for release in 2016.
The Samsung Galaxy S7, according to Tech Times, will most likely continue to use the powerful Exynos processor that the company first used in the Galaxy S6. The S7 may feature a newer, more powerful update of this processor.
According to the report, the phone will also have 4 GB of RAM and will come out in three different versions based on storage capacity: 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. The phone is rumored to feature either a 16 MP or 30 MP primary camera and is one of the phones speculated to feature a 4K ultra-HD display.
The report also states that the S7 will feature a curved design similar to the S6 Edge. The S6 introduced so many aesthetic changes to the Galaxy line that it is unlikely the S7 will feature even more design changes.
