It won't be long until Nintendo Switch players get their hands on physical copies of "Rocket League." Game developer Psyonix announced they will be available for the hybrid console in January 2018.

"Rocket League," or rather, the Collectors' Edition of the game will be available on Nintendo Switch in North America on Jan. 16, 2018. Meanwhile, players in Australia and New Zealand will be able to get their hands on it eight days later. For those in Europe, Russia, South Africa and the Middle East, "Rocket League" will be hitting the shelves on Jan. 25/26, 2018.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game will be similar to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. It includes the full game plus all the downloadable content. Specifically, the Revenge of the Battle-Cars, Supersonic Fury, Chaos Run, Aftershock, Marauder, Esper and Masamune Car packs. It will also include the customization items inspired by DC Comics property "The Flash" and a rare art print by Psyonix concept artist Jay Zhang.

Compared to the "Rocket League" Collector's Edition for the PS4 and Xbox One, the Switch version is $40. This makes it $10 more expensive, so those who are on a budget may want to purchase the versions for the other platforms instead.

As to why the sudden increase in price compared to the other platforms, Psyonix revealed that manufacturing the cartridges for the Switch is quite pricey. Naturally, it would mean that this would be more expensive.

Meanwhile, the game's Frosty Fest event began a few days ago. This event is the Christmas version of the Haunted Hallows event, which was celebrated in October. In Frosty Fest, snowflakes will take the place of the candy corns as the in-game currency. Snowflakes can be acquired by purchasing Decryptors, Event items or even the Frosty Fest Event Crate. The duration of the event is from Dec. 11 to Jan. 2, 2018.
