Rock Band 4 gets online multiplayer coming this year

 Harmonix

Online multiplayer is one of the new features that video game developer Harmonix has teased about even before "Rock Band 4" is released. The company has now made it official and announced via a teaser trailer that the online multiplayer feature will be implemented during the holidays later this year.

According to a report from the official Playstation blog, the synchronous online multiplayer feature will allow gamers to play with one another without having to be in the same room. Online multiplayer has become common place for other video game genres but this will be one of the first time it will be implemented properly for a rhythm-based video game.

The report points out that there will be enhancements included with the feature to ensure that people will be able to play songs even if one or two of the players do not have all the DLC music in their personal "Rock Band 4" library. This will guarantee that even those without all the DLC content can enjoy the online features.

Players will also have to choose a song as a group. This will prevent one player hogging the spotlight by picking a song before anyone can agree on what they want. It is speculated that there may be an "approve" and "reject" button implemented, ensuring that every player will need to approve a song before moving forward with the game.

Other enhancements may include improving the game's online servers and communication features to make it easier for players to discuss their choices with their online band mates and to guarantee that gameplay is not always dampened by disconnections and poor server performance.

More information regarding this feature will be presented during this year's E3 event and it is also likely that a more specific release date will be announced as well. For the time being the online feature is scheduled vaguely for the holidays.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
