'Prison Break' season 5 spoilers: Happy ending not promised for Sara and Michael

 Fox

"Prison Break" season 5 will see the return of Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, despite his death in the film that served as an epilogue to the previous four seasons. Unfortunately, according to a report from TVLine, he won't be greeted with a happy ending as his love interest Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) has a new husband.

According to the report, Mark Feuerstein has been cast as Dr. Sara Tancredi's husband, Scott Ness. He is described as a very powerful man but his exact role and what he may have influenced or done during the time gap between the film and season 5 remains a mystery.

Fans speculate that Scott Ness may be one of the characters aware that Scofield is alive and may even be the one responsible for saving him from certain death or he may be one of the antagonists in the nine-episode revival season.

Unfortunately, there is no word yet if Sara herself will be making an appearance. The report points out that no deal has yet been struck with Callies so there remains the possibility that she married Scott Ness and eventually died or divorced him, in case the actress proves unavailable for season 5.

However, the likelihood of Callies returning to reprise her role is high. Callies recently spoke with Digital Spy and explained that she is currently speaking with series creator Paul Scheuring. The actress explained that the main roadblock at the moment is her filming schedule with her other project, "Colony."

"It's a really interesting challenge to think about resurrecting a character I said goodbye to six years ago. I loved her and it never occurred to me we would be doing this," the actress stated. "There are people yelling at each other on telephones right now in LA -- and hopefully they work it out, because I very much want to be part of it."
