'Pokémon Z' news: Possibly hinted with 'flowers' statement during Pokémon World Championships 2015

The Pokémon Company has not yet officially announced "Pokémon Z" which is speculated by fans to be a proper sequel to "Pokémon X and Y" on the 3DS. However, a possible 2016 hint was given during the 2015 Pokémon World Championships.

According to the Nintendo World Report, J.C. Smith, the Pokémon Company International's Director of Consumer Marketing, was requested to give even just a bare basic cryptic hint of what the company has in store for the future of "Pokémon."

Smith reportedly paused for a moment before stating the word "flowers."

Immediately, this brought speculations surrounding the "Pokémon X and Y" critter Floette. Floette has a special form known as Eternal Flower Floette, which is currently unobtainable within the games except through cheating. This form of Floette plays a crucial part in the games' plot, tied to the character AZ.

The report cites that this link may indicate that the company is working on a currently unnannounced "Pokémon" game for 2016. According to a report from iDigital Times, this may be a direct reference to "Pokémon Z" as it goes back to the world of Kalos instead of the remakes "Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire."

Other hints of the upcoming 2016 release of "Pokémon Z" is the significance of the Legendary Pokémon Zygarde in the promotional materials for the "Pokémon XY" movie. Also included in the promotional images are silhouettes of currently unidentified Pokémon which many speculate to be Mega Evolutions of Zygarde, as previously reported

However, this still remains a rumor as The Pokemon Company has not yet given any official statement. They may indeed be working on a proper sequel to "Pokémon X and Y" or they could be working on a new generation of "Pokémon" titles which will take place in a new area and introduce new Pokémon to be added to the current Pokédex.
