'Pokemon Z' release date: Game further hinted at by reports of 'blue-gemmed Zygarde' form

 The Pokemon Company

As previously reported, the December issue of CoroCoro magazine will have big details to announce regarding "Pokemon Z" or "Pokemon Go," but according to the iDigital Tmes the November issue also has a few surprises such as a new "blue-gemmed core" for the legendary Pokemon Zygarde.

Zygarde first appeared in "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" as a third legendary alongside Xerneas and Yveltal. In a previous report, it was revealed that Zygarde has more than one form shown in the game and that its full form has never yet been seen in the main "Pokemon" games.

The earlier forms of Zygarde include a Zygarde Cell, which is said to be debatable whether or not it should be considered as a Pokemon, and then the Zygarde Core, described to be no larger than a brain. It would appear that this blue-gemmed Zygarde Core may be a different variety of the same Pokemon.

It is further speculated by fans that this blue-gemmed Zygarde Form may simple be the "shiny" variant of the Pokemon. Shiny Pokemon are incredibly rare versions of Pokemon although their stats and capabilities tend to be the same as their regular counterpart, save for a few exceptions such as the Shiny Xerneas and Shiny Yveltal.

However, if this proves true it would follow that its evolution would lead to a shiny version of the 10 percent Zygarde, which appears as a canine, and its 50 percent form which is the one seen in "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y." It may further lead to a shiny version of the complete form of Zygarde.

There is also the possibility of the blue-gemmed Zygarde form being an entirely different type of Zygarde, unique to the game similar to the Red Gyarados from older "Pokemon" games. This may prove vital to the plot if the story in "Pokemon Z" is different from the one in "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y."
