The latest reports seem to agree that one of Oppo's much-awaited handsets, the Find 9, won't be seeing the light of day during the first part of next year.

It was made known back then that the newest iteration in the Find lineup would be launched during the first quarter of 2017. However, this was debunked by a famed tech and smartphone retailer in China. Moreover, a Qualcomm insider also further dispelled the rumor by suggesting that a March 2017 release date for the handset was very unlikely.

In addition, the analyst that first broke the bad news, Pan Jiutang, even made a suggestion to would-be buyers that they could avail other smartphones in the market that are on par with the yet to be released device. Some of the suggested devices include the Vivo XPlay 6 and the mid-generation upgrade to the OnePlus 3 — the OnePlus 3T.

Not much is known about the specs of the Oppo Find 9. However, if previous rumors are to be believed, the device will feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with high-definition features. Though rumored not to sport 4K capabilities, it will still have a decent 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution with multi-touch features.

Furthermore, it is likely to be carrying an octa-core processor from either MediaTek or Qualcomm, though the latter is highly favored. It is also rumored to carry a decent 4 GB of random access memory with a base memory of 64 GB that is expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card. It was also mentioned that it will be preinstalled with the Android Lollipop operating system, though this is highly unlikely given the fact that most of the recently released phones are endowed with the Marshmallow OS.
