OnePlus is going big for the release of its flagship, the OnePlus 2. The company has been dropping morsels of details about the handset over these past few weeks. However, before the rising tech firm is able to fully unmask its newest product, images have been leaked.
A purported photo from sources close to OnePlus recently emerged. The device shows a sketch effect filter. GSM Arena says that it is not quite similar to OnePlus' photography campaign although it claims that the OnePlus 2 comes with a 5.5-inch display, which means that it won't be any bigger than its predecessor.
With the same photo, Techno Buffalo deems that it measures 5.7 inches, which means that OnePlus changed things up in the display department. Unfortunately, there is no info about the screen resolution although its size, as the site claims, will pit it directly against other flagships out there.
As for the rest of the specs previously revealed, OnePlus 2 is fitted out with a new, overheat-shunning version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and has a Type C-USB port, which is lauded for bigger transfer power and its reversibility.
Meanwhile, Phone Arena also obtained a couple of photos allegedly featuring the OnePlus 2. According to the site, the smartphone sports a metal chassis. There were rumors that claimed the same thing, as well as the device boasting a matte finish.
Also, even though the photos are blurry as the site acknowledged, it is enough to confirm that the phone looks like its predecessor. Furthermore, the speculated fingerprint sensor is also shown on a vertical bar on the back of the device.
The only way to find out if the said photos are authentic is to wait for the official release of the OnePlus 2 in the "world's first product launch in VR" scheduled on July 27. OnePlus is also set to reveal new details about the smartphone before then.
