The "One Punch Man" anime is loyal to its source material created by ONE and Yusuke Murata, and this could explain why the second season of the series is not coming soon.

The first season of the manga covered around 50 chapters of the manga. "One Punch Man" season 2 will not have enough source material for a new season, though.

At the moment, there are only around 15 chapters of the manga that the anime can cover, not including the extras. This means the anime may have to wait for new chapters to be released in order to produce a full season.

This suggests that "One Punch Man" season 2 could be delayed if Madhouse Entertainment keeps up with the pacing of the first season, which squeezed three to four chapters per episode.

However, fans will remember that last year, towards the end of the first season, Murata implied that he has started or was planning to start production for the second season.

There's a lot of work cut out for him and his team, so he likes to begin early. There's no update with regards to the production for "One Punch Man" season 2, although the lack of source material might lead to a delay.

Still, there are rumors that the new season of the beloved anime will premiere next month, with reports suggesting that Lord Boros is coming back to fight Saitama despite declaring his loss to the hero for fun.

"One Punch Man" season 2 also purportedly promises a whole host of villains that Saitama will have to deal with, including Garou, the only one among his foes that can withstand one of Saitama's punches.

There are rumors which suggest that Saitama will meet his first defeat in the new season, although there's no word if Garou will be the one to hand him that.

Another villain that is expected is the good-looking Amai Mask, who would appreciate it if Saitama does not destroy his pretty face.
