After a one season-stint with the New York Jets in 2014 where he had little success, current free agent quarterback Michael Vick believes he can still be a starter in the NFL.

Vick attended a charity golf tournament organized by former Philadelphia Eagles teammate wide receiver DeSean Jackson and was asked by a reporter if he thinks he can still start, The Washington Times reported.

"Absolutely. Yeah, I do," the 34-year-old answered according to The Washington Times.

Vick is a four-time Pro Bowler and a 12-year veteran but is still without a team with organized team activities and minicamps currently on going around the league.

In a report by The Washington Times, Vick said he is not worried joining a team this late in the offseason.

"I think when you're a veteran, you can do it. You understand everything that goes on throughout the course of an NFL season, throughout the course of a preseason. So you know how to pace yourself," Vick stated according to the report.

"You've just got to work out. You have to make sure when you go in that you're in tip-top shape and not lagging, because if you do, it's going to show," he added.

Vick also said that he is a better player mentally despite no longer having the same athleticism.

"Now I just take everything and just put it all together. I'm probably not as good an athlete as I was back then, but I make up for it mentally," he stated according to The Washington Times.

Vick added, "So now, it's the total package. I'm still strong, still fast, still quick. Those are my intangibles, and I've got to continue to use them."

When asked if he spoke to any team this offseason, Vick said he is just following his agent and will just work hard while waiting.

"Just continuing to work out each and every day, continue to stay optimistic and believe," Vick said according to The Washington Times.
