While most fans of Netflix's "Narcos" may already have an idea of what will happen in the show's next installment, there are still some who are curious to know more about what might transpire in season 3.

Now that Pablo Escobar's (Wagner Moura) Medellin Empire has been brought down to rubbles, thanks to Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Peña's (Pedro Pascal) efforts, reports are suggesting though that it's only the latter who was tapped by the showrunners to reprise his role next season. This is albeit the fact that the actual Peña was not recommissioned by the U.S. government to take down the Medellin Cartel's rival, the Cali Cartel.

Meanwhile, the fate of Holbrook's character still hangs in the balance. Nonetheless, his portrayal was commended by Narcos' showrunner, Eric Newman and even questioned whether Murphy's story has indeed ended.

Holbrook, on the other hand, is quite busy these days considering the queue of his upcoming projects. One of which is the upcoming superhero film "Logan" where he will assume the part of the villain, Donald Pierce.

Aside from the returning characters, new faces will be added into the mix next season including Andrea Londo who was seen in projects such as "Time in Between" and "Pasaporte." It is said that she will take on the part of an ex-beauty queen named Maria who grew up to be street smart. Nicholas Gonzales was also tapped to join next season and is to play an agent for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) who'll go by the name Lopez.

Netflix has yet to make a statement on the official release date of "Narcos'" third season. In the meantime, fans can still relive the events that happened in the show's first two seasons as both of them are available on the said streaming service.
