With 'Mortal Kombat X' being slotted for a release on April 14, 2015, the game is currently in development with which the character lineup is continuously expanding.

As the return of classic characters, such as Raiden, Scorpion, Kano, and Sub Zero, have already been announced by the game's developer NetherRealm Studios, the return of the tricky sorcerer Quan Chi has recently been unveiled as well.

According to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, publisher of the upcoming 'Mortal Kombat X', the longtime protagonist of the 'Mortal Kombat' franchise, who was first introduced in the animated TV series 'Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm' in 1996, will be returning in three variations.

Quan Chi can be played as a Sorcerer, a Warlock and a Summoner. Spells can be used in combat in Sorcerer mode whereas portals can be opened to attack opponents in different angles using the Warlock mode. As a Summoner, Quan Chi can signal to underworld creatures to aid him in his battles.

Aside from the newly announced return of Quan Chi, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have also drawn attention to the inclusion of new fighters Cassie Cage, D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr and Kotal Kahn in the tenth installment of the 'Mortal Kombat' videogame series.

Fans can look forward to a new storyline and playing approach in the upcoming 'Mortal Kombat X.' Three new fighting styles will be incorporated into the game, enabling players to select the most ideal style based on their needs and requirements during a fight.

Certain character updates can also be expected alongside the new combatants. Currently, there are only a couple of playable characters including D'Vorah, Kotal Kahn and Cassie Cage. Most of the classic characters, such as Raiden, Goro Sub Zero, Scorpion and Kano, will also be playable.

'Mortal Kombat X' has been set to be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
