Marvel's equally well-known superhero tandem, "Cloak and Dagger," is said to be gracing the small screen. However, the upcoming series' release window, which was initially set for 2017, has been pushed back to 2018. Reports suggest that the delay is to provide adequate time for script revisions.

According to recent reports, the yet to be released show's producer, Joe Pokaski, will be rewriting the script. As the title of the show suggests, the upcoming TV adaptation will showcase the unique and interesting bond between Cloak, whose real name is Tyrone Johnson, and Dagger, who is originally known as Tandy Bowen.

The couple will, of course, be endowed with their respective special abilities as they fight their antagonists. Cloak will be equipped with a special cape that swallows his foes into the pitch black void. Dagger, on the other hand, will have the ability to harden light and turn it into bladed weapons — which makes her moniker quite apt.

"Cloak and Dagger" is expected to premiere on the renamed network, Freeform, which is also a Disney-owned entity. Formerly dubbed as ABC Family, the overhauled channel is set to zero in on viewers between the 14 to 34 age group.

That being said, the network is quite confident that the TV series will be doing good in terms of ratings, provided that it will be done the way a Marvel series should be. In addition, it is also said that the show will feature a love story which is very much appealing to the general audience that Freeform caters to.

There's no definite release date yet for "Marvel's Cloak and Dagger" but it is expected to arrive sometime in winter 2018. Stay tuned for more news and updates regarding the latest developments on Freeform's "Cloak and Dagger."
