MacBook Pro 2016 release date in June 2016 - what to expect

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be a major upgrade for Apple's line of laptops but up to this point no specific release date has been announced. However, new rumors from MacWorld indicate that Apple will hold an event in March next year and it is possible that the new MacBook Pro will launch several months after said event.

The exact event is not yet identified; however, it is speculated by many to be the Worldwide Developers Conference, which is scheduled to launch during Q1 of 2016.

As stated in the report, Apple has held events in the month of March before. It was during a March event that the company released the Apple Watch and an update for the MacBook previously this year. The iPad 3 was also launched in March back in 2012.

However, the report doesn't point to a March MacBook Pro release but a MacBook Air release instead. The new MacBook Air may be given the spotlight during this unidentified event while the MacBook Pro 2016 will instead be showcased and released a few months later, presumably by June.

It is still entirely possible that the MacBook Pro will be unveiled during the event but will not launch until much later. This will resemble how the iPad Pro was unveiled simultaneously with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus earlier this year but was not released to store shelves until a few months after.

By creating a short gap of a few months in between the launch of the MacBook Air in March and the MacBook Pro in June, Apple will be able to give each device their moment to shine, avoiding self-competition in the market.

The MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air are touted to have generally the same specs, utilizing the new Intel Skylake-U processors, but the Pro is expected to have a higher RAM, more storage space, a larger screen and a few select additional apps or features.
