Liverpool seems to be preparing once budding 20-year-old winger Raheem Sterling leaves the club as they ready a £14.5 million bid for another young rising star in Real Madrid's Denis Cheryshev.
Cheryshev just spent his last two seasons on loan at Sevilla and Villareal, the International Business Times reported.
The 24-year-old had an injury in his stint with Villareal in the 2013-14 season but bounced back last season scoring seven goals and had 11 assists in 40 appearances for the Yellow Submarines.
According to the International Business Times' report, Real Madrid's new manager Rafael Benitez would be giving Cheryshev a chance to prove himself this preseason but the AS reported that the future of the winger is in England.
The report also said that Benitez will unlikely block Cheryshev's possible move to Liverpool with Real Madrid having Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Jese.
But Real might ask Liverpool for a buy-back clause just like what they did with Alvaro Morata, Dani Carvajal and Joselu.
Liverpool is eyeing a replacement for Sterling who according to BBC Sports already turned down a £100,000-a-week contract in April and has been linked with a number of club moves which includes joining Manchester City.
Louis van Gaal and Manchester United will also try to continue the chase for Sterling after their first offer was rejected last month according to the Daily Mirror.
The Daily Mirror's report said United will be back and is set to offer a £25 million bid for the 20-year-old.
Van Gaal believes Sterling is an exciting talent and will flourish at Old Trafford also saying that the youngster will leave Anfield because of his contract issues with Liverpool, according to the report.
Sterling already said via his agent Aidy Ward that he would like to leave Liverpool with Ward saying that his client would not sign even a £900,000-a-week deal to stay in Anfield.
