Jeremy Lin trade rumors: Golden State Warriors talks baseless?

Rumblings online discussing Jeremy Lin's impending switch to the Golden State Warriors are just unfounded rumors, according to industry observers.

Master Herald has pointed out that Lin's current stint as the sixth man for the Charlotte Hornets has been working so well that he need not make adjustments at this time, particularly a change of teams. In the current standing, the Charlotte Hornets have a 9-6 standing in the NBA Conference, and the team is secure in the seventh place.

The standing of his team is one of the results of Lin's growth and continuous building of rapport with his team mates, particularly in his switches with starting point guard Kemba Walker. Averaging around 12 points per game with also a number of assists and rebounds, Lin's playing style has well meshed with the Hornets' playbook that Charlotte coach Steve Clifford only has praises for him.

Clifford has been quoted by Vice Sports as saying, "One of the biggest things, the way the league is going, is that he can play two spots, so he could both play with Kemba, and then he can play as the point guard."

Meanwhile, playing for the Charlotte Hornets has been a surprise for Lin, who said, "Funny how God works things out. Charlotte wasn't on the top six list, but I ended up here. Honestly, that's how it always ends up for me. It's never the way I planned it or imagined going into anything. Ever. So I wasn't surprised. I'll be surprised when things are pretty smooth and clear."

Lin's contract with the Charlotte Hornets is for two years for $4 million. In addition, the contract also has a player option for the second year, which means that Lin still has time to think about his choices before deciding if he would become an unrestricted free agent, which might have been the trigger for the early trade rumors with GSW.
