"iZombie" has put together the elusive mix of humor, drama and the supernatural, a rare combination that has garnered fans during its premiere season. The CW has recently picked up the show for another season, and many are wondering what the future holds for Liv (Rose McIver), Clive (Malcolm Goodwin), Ravi (Rahul Kohli), and Major (Robert Buckley), especially after season 1 ended in a dramatic cliffhanger.

During the show's finale, Liv ended up turning Major into a zombie to save his life, only to give him the last batch of the cure. Later, she finds out that her brother is in the hospital and needs her blood to save him, and now she can't give it to him because she already gave it to the love of her life.

In an exclusive interview with E! Online, show creator Rob Thomas shared some details about what fans can expect from "iZombie" when it returns this fall.

Thomas said that although Blaine and Major have been cured, both of them will see side effects and fallout from that. Blaine will also try to maintain his zombie world while being human, so fans can see him trying to pretend that he's still a zombie in season 2.

Liv will also deal with the repercussions of her choice to save Major, seeing that her brother is in critical condition by the end of the finale.

"The season two opening scene is going to be a really rough scene with the family," Thomas told E! Online. "They do not understand the decision she made and it's kind of impossible for her to tell them."

As for whether there will be a time jump between seasons 1 and 2, Thomas said that there will be a time jump of a few months when the new season premieres and that viewers will see Liv making "the eighth attempt to get back into their [her family's] good graces."

"iZombie" returns this fall on The CW.
