iOS 9.2 jailbreak: iOS 9.2.1 'unofficially' jailbroken by Italian developer

News about iOS 9.2.1 being jailbroken has surfaced online. However, many fans of the jailbroken Apple mobile devices would still have to wait patiently, since the jailbreak version for the iOS 9.2.1 is an "unofficial" one.

According to GottaBeMobile, a screenshot of Cydia, a jailbreak tool, running on an iPhone 6 has been circulating online. Apparently, however, the said screenshot is not from anyone on the PanGu or TaiG jailbreak development teams. Rather, the screenshot was posted by Italian developer Luca Todesco.

The industry follower added that Todesco managed to jailbreak iOS 9.2.1. However, he will not be distributing the files or the tools he used for jailbreaking to the public, making his copy an "unofficial" one.

While Todesco is not a part of any jailbreak development teams, he did participate in jailbreaking previous versions of the iOS. According to NeuroGadget, Todesco was one of the developers behind an earlier PanGu9 jailbreak beta (although Apple did manage to patch it later on). In addition, Todesco also worked on a jailbreak version for the previous iOS 8.4.1 platform.

Meanwhile, although Todesco will not share his jailbreak version, Forbes said that an official version might be in the works already. While Todesco did say that the current iOS platform is harder to break compared to previous iOS environments, his announcement proved that Apple has yet to manage making its iOS versions "jailbreak-proof" and that the official development teams will come out with a jailbroken iOS 9 soon.

Many Apple mobile device users are becoming fans of jailbreak iOS platforms since the environment frees up the device itself and the users have the chance to further tweak their Apple devices. However, the process itself toward an official jailbreak version is becoming a lengthy one, with Apple developers trying to fix their iOS codes and putting up a number of security measures to protect against jailbreaking.
