iOS 10.1.1 update, news: iPhone users experience battery issues

Apple may be cashing in billions from its lineup of devices powered by the iOS but the mobile operating system itself is not without bugs and glitches. As much as anyone would prefer to own and use an iPhone over other smartphones, it seems like even the best engineers at the Cupertino-based company can't be perfect geniuses themselves. Now the latest issue involving the iOS is the 10.1.1 update that reportedly brings reduced battery life.

According to a recent report from PC Mag as well as a few discussions on the official Apple support website, users have been complaining about their iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 not being able to last a day the moment they updated to iOS 10.1.1.

Per Digital Trends, there even are complaints that devices suddenly die even with still about 30 to 50 percent of battery life. While this definitely will be addressed in the forthcoming update, the fact that Apple once again missed this one is a testament that even the most sophisticated mobile OS in the world will have problems. To recall, this update was intended to get rid of bugs as well as provide stability to certain components of iOS 10. While those issues have clearly been resolved, it does not help that a new one has come to light in the form of reduced battery life.

Based on Apple's traditional update scheduling, there's very little waiting time for Apple device users. In fact, the Oct. 31 iOS 10.1 release was given an update in the form of the iOS 10.1.1 just nine days later. As of this posting, the iOS 10.2 beta 3 version is already available to download for those who are enrolled in the company's beta program. With this in mind, it shouldn't take Apple more than a month to address this battery draining issue through another official iOS update.
