NetherRealms Studios is upping the ante for "Injustice 2" by, not only adding a brand new gear system. but with a revamped story mode as well.

During an interview with Gamereactor, NetherRealms marketing manager Brian Goodman revealed that the sequel will be "a little bit different" in terms of structure.

"There's going to be definitely an opportunity to go through the story mode, and we're definitely going to leave them wanting to go through it perhaps a second time," he explained.

NetherRealms is also changing things up in the modes department of "Injustice 2" by adding "a number of single-player modes" in the game to cater to players who like such gameplay.

"We're going to have we're really trying to round out our offerings for people who enjoy our games as single players," Goodman teased, quickly adding that there will also be something in "Injustice 2" for multiplayer fans

"Of course, a whole suite of online modes as well, both competitive and potentially some co-operative modes as well," he went on to say.

Goodman did not elaborate on the details of these game modes or how they plan to incorporate them, but the mention is definitely enough to excite fans of "Injustice 2."

As said before, the "Injustice: Gods Among Us" sequel will introduce a new gear system that allows players to get loot as rewards. The better the performance of players, the better gear they get.

The loot comes in the form of various gears and weapons that players can use to customize their characters and ultimately do their own spin of the beloved DC Comics heroes and villains.

Fans won't have to worry about the customized fighters getting the upper hand because NetherRealms will incorporate tweaks that will put players in level playing fields.

The company believes that the new gear system will both serve the hardcore gamers and the casual fans.

"Injustice 2" will be released sometime next year on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and later, on mobile.
