Linebacker Trent Cole moved on from the Philadelphia Eagles releasing him after nine seasons and is now "rejuvenated" after joining the Indianapolis Colts who signed him to a two-year deal last March.
The Eagles released him during the offseason mainly because of his huge salary cap which will cost the team $11.6 million for next season, ESPN reported.
Cole is playing a huge role for the Colts since linebacker Robert Mathis is recovering from an Achilles injury.
The 32-year-old will also have the chance to start at rush linebacker if Mathis is still not at a hundred percent when they begin their campaign this coming season.
Cole is just happy to be with the Colts who he said is a team that wants him after being released by Philadelphia.
"I'm here to do what they tell me to do. I'm glad to be with a team that wants me here, wants my services, and they feel like I can be an impact to this team," he said according to ESPN.
"That's a great feeling to have, coming to the Colts. We have a lot of talent and a lot of great players here. Just makes you excited for the upcoming season," Cole added.
He also had some message to everyone questioning his ability to play at his age.
"Look at the tape. I've always told [reporters], the footage doesn't lie, and you need to go back and look at the footage, and it'll tell you if I'm going downhill," Cole stated.
"I feel rejuvenated. Getting in the flow with the team and coming out this minicamp, it's been great," he also said.
Cole, who was a fifth-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, averaged 6.5 sacks in 15 games for the Eagles last season.
The Colts signed him to a two-year, $16 million deal last March and are hoping he can regain his dominant form and be of huge aid for them in Mathis' absence.
