In light of the recent cancellation of "Hannibal," fans can take comfort in the fact that showrunner Bryan Fuller is doing everything to save the show and find for it a new home. Meanwhile, the sadistic doctor's story continues in season 3, which is now on episode 5 titled "Contorno."
The search for Hannibal continues and the band of vindictive individuals who want him either dead or in prison are close to locating him, but the killer occasionally gets lucky. Jack Crawford and Inspector Pazzi carry on finding anything that could lead them to where their target is in Florence.
However, the Inspector, who journeyed with Will back in episode 2 to locate who he believes is the Florentine killer from two decades ago, may forget about the task altogether with the gleaming riches Mason Verger plans to toss his way.
Speaking of Verger, it is in this episode that Alana Bloom, who decided to team up with him for his vast resources, starts to worry about everyone involved in the full-scale pursuit. After all, these very same resources could easily turn against her and the rest of the chasers.
As for Will, he is still with Chiyoh hunting for Hannibal, and the pair steps closer and closer to their target's cozy location in Florence. Although the two have the same goal, which is to find Hannibal, they are in conflict as to how things will go down when they finally do.
In this episode, Carter Matt believes that more about the characters will be fleshed out. After all, when the season started, Will was absent and not much of the characters readily showed up.
"Hannibal" season 3 episode 5 "Contorno" will air on July 2. As for the show's chance for renewal, Fuller is in talks with other networks and even Netflix and Amazon for Hannibal's story to live on.
