'Halo 5 Memories of Reach' DLC release date: new content and changes confirmed by 343 Industries

Halo 5: Guardians - Memories of Reach DLC 343 Industries

The upcoming free DLC for "Halo 5: Guardians," titled "Memories of Reach," has no official release date as of the time being but developer 343 Industries has released a special blog post that focuses on the new content and game changes that the DLC will introduce upon release.

One of the main changes that the DLC will bring into the game is the option of altering the current matchmaking search preferences. At the time being there is only the Balanced search option, in which players look for new matches based on their fireteam's skill as well as their network connection quality.

The two new search preferences include the Expanded option, in which players can broaden their match search as long as it has "reasonable" skill matching and network connection qualitiy. The other new option is the Focused preference in which players can search for matches with the best skill matching and connection although this will relatively take a little longer to accomplish.

Changes are also being made to the game's PGCR (Post Game Carnage Report) so that every reward and a total of three rare or legendary medal will be displayed. The Player Recap screen is also being altered to better showcase the player's achievements and what they have pulled off during the most recent match.

Both the Spartan Charge and the speed of moving while crouching have also been slightly altered to improve gameplay.

"Additionally, Spartan Charge with Speed Boost will no longer be a one-hit kill, and Spartan Charge with the Gravity Hammer will no longer be a one-hit kill," reads the official post from 343 Industries.

Brand new Reqs and a preview look of the upcoming Stasis map have also been showcased. The blog post also states that the developers will host a live-stream on May 11 to reveal gameplay footage using the new multiplayer map.
