'GTA Online Heists' DLC release date came with server and connection issues

 Rockstar Games

It took a long while before "Heists" got here, but when it was finally launched for "GTA Online," the DLC brought with it issues — the last thing patient "GTA" gamers wanted to see.

It was a long wait for players and, as a result, the arrival of the four-player co-op mode was something the entire "GTA" community wanted to take part in. Rockstar's servers, however, were not able to handle the incursion of players, which resulted to connection problems. There were other issues as well, such as those in signing up, joining games, and downloading already available and paid content, the last one being the most ubiquitous to Xbox 360. On the whole, the problems had an effect on all of "GTA" and almost instantaneously, gamers have dropped and fired their backlash though social media and in Rockstar's and Xbox's support pages.

"We are aware of some issues today with players having problems connecting to GTA Online, as well as issues with the Xbox Live service," Rockstar said in a statement it posted on its support website. "We are working to restore full access to GTA Online as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please stay tuned to this page to monitor the performance of all platforms."

Microsoft also acknowledged the frustrating issue and assured its users that it is hard at work in figuring out a solution.

"Hey Xbox members, if you are having difficulties trying to download Themes and Gamer pics, we're aware of the issues and are working hard to get them resolved ASAP. Thank you for being patient! We'll post another update as soon as we have more information," reads the post on the support website.

The issue remains persistent and it looks like the only thing players can do for now is once again wait. Besides, "GTA Online" also came with menacing bugs so it won't be long before Rockstar develops a fix for this setback.
