Based on the posts shared on social media, the episode was shot from Oct. 20 up to Nov. 2. It could only mean that big events will happen in the episode and required a longer period of production.

While there is no official word yet regarding the plot of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 winter premiere, fans of the show are hoping that it would shed light on Owen's (Kevin McKidd) secret sister,, who was revealed during the midseason finale.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, McKidd talked about Owen's possible reason why his sister never came up after all this time. The actor believes that there must be something serious that happened in the past which made Owen decide why he never talked about his sister.

However, McKidd shared that Owen and his sister "were very close," which is why talking about it was hard for him.
