'Game of Thrones' season 6 spoilers, plot: Maisie Williams spotted filming swimming scene

Maisie Williams was recently spotted filming a scene for "Game of Thrones" season 6 where she plunged into the waters of Carnlough Harbour in County Antrim. Photos of the star, who plays Arya Stark in the series, were taken from the show's set in Northern Ireland.

It is currently unknown what Williams' character is up to in the pictures. It is harder to figure it out now since there is no accompanying "A Song of Ice and Fire" book to turn to this time around, with the HBO epic catching up with all released volumes of the series written by bestselling author George R.R. Martin. When season 5 of "Game of Thrones" ended, Arya lost her sight, which serves as her penalty for murdering Ser Meryn Trant.

Although it is uncertain if Williams will still wear the contact lenses that she wore last season, MTV says that she will no longer wear them in season 6. Not that this is a surprise, as the actress has long been complaining about these eyewear.

"I don't want to wear these crazy contacts for the rest of my time on Thrones!" Williams told Entertainment Weekly. "I don't know how ... that will impede her life. She's going to become very vulnerable thanks to that. It's exciting and scary. So I'm worried about next year."

As per Comicbook Movie, there are also other photos from the set of "Game of Thrones" season 6 that made the rounds ever since the HBO epic started production last month. However, these are the first pictures to actually show a major character.

In other series-related news, fans await any morsel of clue about Jon Snow's fate in the series. Not too long ago, Kit Harington, who plays the fan-favorite character, was spotted in Belfast, the location of the show's set.
