'Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious' for free from March 27 for two weeks

Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious Xbox

Universal Pictures has collaborated with video game developers Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games to create a stand-alone expansion of "Forza Horizon 2." Titled "Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious," the expansion has been confirmed to be for free but only for a limited time.

The game will be free to download for two weeks, from March 27 to April 10, coinciding with the release of the "Furious 7" film in theaters on April 3. Following the initial two weeks, the game will then be available for a $10 purchase.

Players who have already downloaded the game during its free run will be able to continue playing without any restriction. It will not require players to have played last year's "Forza Horizon 2."

"Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious"  features a unique story where Tej Parker of the "Fast & Furious" films, voiced by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges himself, recruits the player to source cars for the crew's next mission. By completing different challenges such as street races and timed races, the player will be able to collect more cars which they can then add to their free roam play.

The game will feature a unique selection of vehicles that come from the movies, including the latest film. Among these is the iconic 1970 Dodge Charger and the 2014 Maserati Ghibli S.

While it may not be the first game based on the "F&F" franchise, it is being marketed as the best one yet.

The Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Platforms, Universal Partnerships & Licensing Bill Kispert mentioned to Microsoft's Xbox Team, "In this adventure, fans will experience the thrill of the 'Fast & Furious' series' most iconic cars through the amazing gameplay of Forza, and we couldn't think of a better combination for gamers and movie fans alike."
