Floyd Mayweather news: Boxer trolls Conor McGregor anew by teasing a UFC rematch

The entire world knows that boxing great Floyd Mayweather is not one to hold back when taunting someone, but when it comes to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star Conor McGregor, Mayweather takes the mind games up a notch.

Following the Irishman's demand of facing Mayweather in a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) rematch, Mayweather responded in kind by uploading a twitter video of him in the Syndicate gym in Las Vegas, showing the boxer wearing MMA shorts while walking inside an MMA cage.

He immediately followed up the tweet with another video, this time standing in the center of the cage and delivering a cryptic message: "2018. Floyd 'Money' Mayweather. MMA. What are the odds, Paddy? What are the odds."

At 40 years old, it is highly unlikely that Mayweather really has plans to venture into MMA as fighter. He is probably just taking a jab at McGregor to rub his 2017 mega fight victory on the face of "The Notorious," and to keep himself in the headlines even in retirement, something that "Money" is very good at doing.

And McGregor's loss was not the only issue he poked fun at.

Earlier this month, Mayweather posted a tweet against McGregor's altercation with an alleged member of the Irish cartel. The tweet says that Mayweather already beat him in 2017, and this year, it is the cartel's turn. The tweet includes emojis of several tools and weapons, and a coffin.

Not to be outdone, McGregor simply responded by saying "I am the cartel."

So far, there is no explanation for the drama that is currently unfolding, but one thing is definitely clear: Mayweather loves the attention, good or bad, and he is certainly thriving on the reactions he draws from his antics.
