Fans' excitement has reached new heights as it has been confirmed that "Final Fantasy XV" has finally gotten a confirmed release window.
According to a blog post on the official website of developer Square Enix, fans can expect "Final Fantasy XV" to come out this year. The news apparently came straight from the title's director, Hajime Tabata.
The game director wrote on his New Year's message, "We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016! In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower."
While the announcement did not indicate a specific release date for the much-anticipated title, it is still welcome news for hardcore followers of the franchise. "Final Fantasy XV" has been in development for too long, and with developer Square Enix only releasing minute details from time to time, fans have been worried that the title might lose its edge due to the waiting time, and some have even asked if the title will even come out sooner than 2017.
In addition, while there is no specific date nor a general release window included in the announcement, the title is already in its final stages of development and will hopefully achieve a gold status soon (the version that will be sent to disc and digital copy productions).
Meanwhile, Tabata hopes there will not be setbacks prior to the final stages of development so that "Final Fantasy XV" can make its 2016 schedule.
The game director added on his message, "We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure."
"Final Fantasy XV" is the latest upcoming installment in the long-running, highly popular Square Enix franchise. Prior to the 2016 release announcement, the developer only allowed glimpse and teases of the upcoming title but continued to piqued fans' interests by also releasing at least two demo versions dubbed "Episode Duscae."
