For some time, news regarding the sequel to the successful "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" movie has been scarce. Fortunately, fans are in for a treat as not only has the official title for the second installment, popularly dubbed as "Fantastic Beasts 2," there is also the first official cast photo as well as the synopsis of the film and its release date.

The events of the first film saw Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) capture the dark wizard at the time, Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), and hand him over to the custody of the MACUSA or the Magical Congress of the United States of America.

The official title of the sequel to "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is called "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" and the official synopsis of the sequel is as follows:

"At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured by MACUSA with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about to gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn, love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world."

Along with the official title and the official synopsis, Warner Bros. has also released a first look into the cast with the official cast photo. Shared on the movie's official Twitter account, it shows most of the characters from the first film that are returning for the second, including Redmayne, Depp, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, and Alison Sudol. Law is among the newcomers who will be making their entrance in the second installment, as he will be portraying the young Albus Dumbledore.

"Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" will premiere on Nov. 16, 2018.
