There are some who might be wondering why the newest episode of "Empire" season 4 did not air this week? Fortunately, there is a reason why.
In light of the Thanksgiving festivities this week, FOX decided not to air "Empire" season 4 episode 7 this week. Instead, it will air next week, on Nov. 29 in its usual timeslot. The network is aware that airing a new episode on the eve of Thanksgiving might affect their ratings negatively, thus the one week delay.
This also applies to some other shows on FOX which did not or are not airing their newest episode this week. There are some exceptions, however, as "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" aired their Thanksgiving episode for the fifth season yesterday.
When "Empire" returns next week, episode 7 is titled "The Lady Doth Protest" and the official synopsis reveals that production comes to a stop on Empire's 20-For-20. Calvin (Damon Gupton) and Porsha (Ta'Rhonda Jones) are feeling overworked by their new producer Eddie Barker (Forest Whitaker) and therefore decide to call a strike. This strike leaves Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) to find an answer to this crisis.
Lucious (Terrence Howard), on the other hand, tries to prove that he can still be the person that he was before the explosion. The Lyon patriarch then cuts a deal on behalf of Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), unaware of the consequences that could follow after making the deal.
As for Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Andre (Trai Byers), romance is in the air as they express their feelings for their respective significant others. However, they are unaware of what their partners are hiding from them. It seems that more secrets and drama are looming over their heads. Romantic issues tend to rarely work out for these two brothers, so it remains to be seen what they do next when everything comes out in the open.
"Empire" season 4 airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
