Bandai Namco released the first patch for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" last Nov.1 which seeks to address issues that fans have raised about the game.
Among the issues that Patch 1.01 addressed was the loading time in the game and lag within quick matches, Saiyan Island reported. The patch also made adjustments for the Male Majin as well as the Awaken Power from Namekians.
Fans will be glad to know that the patch also fixed the issues reported on the Steam database especially regarding the Black Goku and Future Trunks pre-order bonuses, controller issues, glitches on Giant Attack, English voices, as well as launches and crashes. The patch is targeted towards PC and Xbox One versions of the game for the meantime as the team works on patches for the PS4 version.
Even as the studio releases its first patch, reddit user Mkilbride has observed some changes made by Bandai Namco on the Steam listing for the game's DLC, Yibada reported. Among the changes is the absence of some free content that the studio has previously listed for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." Also, support — which was previously listed for a year — is now limited to six months.
Along with the patch for the remaining glitches found in the game, fans are also expecting the studio to give an explanation on why the changes have been made to the lineup and return the listing to its original state.
Still, early reviews of the game have remained favorable.
"The first Xenoverse title wasn't 100% successful with its ambitious endeavors, but developer Dimps definitely learned from their mistakes the first time around. The online game mechanics are incredibly sound; however, the Time Patrol plot device has returned, removing any real newness the game has to offer. In many ways, Xenoverse 2 is a 2.0 upgrade for Dragon Ball Xenoverse and not a proper sequel," Playstation Lifestyle's Keri Honea wrote on the blog's review.
